Social Media Advertising Part 4: LinkedIn Ads

In the last blog of our social media advertising series, we’ll look at LinkedIn ads. While LinkedIn may not have the same stigma as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram as a trendy social media platform, it provides a great opportunity as an advertising platform to reach business professionals. LinkedIn users can benefit from the following areas when advertising on LinkedIn:

Professional audience. According to LinkedIn its users are comprised of over 7.9 million business decision makers, 1.3 million small business owners, and over 4 million corporate executives, making it a great platform for business-to-business advertising.

Precision targeting. Unlike other social media platforms which allow you to target specific demographics such as age, gender, or geographic location, LinkedIn allows you to target audiences by job titles and function, industries and company sizes, and seniority within a company.

Format options. LinkedIn provides a variety of advertising options including sponsored updates, text ads, image ads, and video ads. This allows businesses to establish a variety of advertising strategies to increase brand awareness and/or drive lead generation.

Businesses have started utilizing LinkedIn advertising to help target and attract potential employees. With the capabilities of targeting industry professionals, companies can design and implement specific advertising campaigns to help not only enhance a strong client base, but also build a strong internal workforce.

Have you used LinkedIn advertising to promote brand awareness or lead generation?
