After teasing the masses last week with a countdown timer on their website and the promise that they would be debuting new hardware and technologies sometime this year, they went and delivered the goods when the clock struck zero.
As for what makes their third-gen smartwatch so special, you’re looking at everything from its fresh new design that comes in black, white, or red, a color e-paper display, and a built-in microphone that can be used for responding to incoming messages and recording memos. It’s also 20% slimmer than previous iterations and built to take a licking thanks to its Gorilla Glass screen and stainless steel bezel. Like past models, the Time will reportedly last for up to seven days on a full charge.
If you want to get your hands on one of these beauties, the Time is being sold exclusively through Pebble’s Kickstarter campaign where it has already blown its funding goals clear out of the water. Or if you’d like to wait until May when it hits retail stores, it’ll run you a cool $199.
With the upcoming release of the highly-anticipated Apple Watch, Pebble is clearly doing their part to stake their claim in the market.
How do you think the Pebble Time is going to fare against the Apple Watch?
